HoOt HOot

Miss Ella celebrated her 6th birthday last weekend. Ella's invitation had some cute little owls on it, so we decided to do some owl cookies as party favors for her friends, as well as some bigger owls for her family birthday party the next day. Here's what we came up with!

Pink skinny owls for Ella's friends

Pink big owls for Ella's family party (inspiration from SweetSugarBelle)

Pink Owl Platter

Teal skinny owls for the boys at Ella's party

Teal fat owls for the family party

Thanks so much Lezlie for asking me to do these owls for Ella! I love them!

The Junior League

Recently I made some cookies for the Amarillo Junior League. These cookies were for an underwriting meeting (ie: "give us money" meeting), hence the dollar signs.

The Vampire Diaries

I like vampires. In no way will this be the only vampire-related cookie post you will see from me. In fact, I already have some big cookie plans for the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 in November. And those will even include some werewolf love (Team Jacob FTW!).

Anyway.....Thursday was the premiere of one of my favorite shows on TV--The Vampire Diaries. One look at the actor that plays Damon, and you might become hooked as well. ;) A couple of my friends are also huge fans of the show, and since they live 6 hours away therefore depriving me of a premiere party, I decided to make them some cookies instead. Below are the results.

These were my favorite :)

Roll the Dice

One of my good friends and I recently started a BUNCO group. Do you guys know what Bunco is? Or is it just a Texas thing??? Anyway, it's a super fun and easy dice game that requires 8 or 12 people (12 is waaay more fun!). Tonight was our first game, which I hosted. So OF COURSE I had to make cookies. Below are the quick and easy cookies I made for our dessert. And I say quick and easy because they were the last 2 dozen of the 8 dozen cookies I decorated for orders this week. By the time I was ready to do these, I was low on icing, and getting sleepy--a double whammy in my opinion. And since they were for my friends, I figured they wouldn't care if they were super elaborate--as long as they were tasty.

Just like the cookie says.. BUNCO!

Beachball Birthday!

Some of our good friends have a little boy who celebrated his 3rd birthday today! He had a super fun backyard party complete with crazy sprinklers, a pool and a waterslide. What more could a 3 year old want?! I have never seen a kid enjoy the water as much as Parker did. I think he would stay out there playing all day if his mama would let him. For decorations there were about 20 beachballs around the yard for the kiddos to play with...which totally inspired the cookies for the party. I made beachballs and swim trunks to go along with the theme. Happy Birthday Parker!

Beachballs...a little more difficult to make than I imagined, but I'm happy with how they turned out!
